What is my reference number?Your reference number can be found on your booking confirmation e-mail and rental voucher. This is your unique reference for your rental and should be used in all communication regarding your booking.
What is a Rental Voucher?This is a very important document that contains all the vital details like supplier details, pick up point, pick up and drop off times and terms of the rental. This must be printed and taken with you to pick up your rental car. You will receive your Voucher or Ticket via e-mail after you have completed the booking process.
What extras can I add? Can I add extras when I collect the car?These are the most common extras available but they will vary depending on the supplier. Sat Nav, child seats, booster seats, ski racks, roof racks, luggage boxes and snow chains. You can request extras at the time of booking or when you collect your car. However if you wait until you pick up your car your extra may not be available.
Additional Drivers?Some companies allow one additional driver free of charge but most make a small charge. Each rental company will be able to advise you of this at time of booking.
What are Winter Fees?Some suppliers during the winter season will charge a fee for compulsory equipment that must be added to the car e.g. snow chains. It doesn't apply to all countries it is mainly for the ski resort locations.
What are the conditions regarding fuel?The fuel tank policy will change from supplier to supplier so you will need to check the Terms and Conditions of your supplier. Most commonly you will either pick up the car with a full tank and return the car with a full tank or pick up the car with a full tank and return empty.
What is CDW insurance?CDW or (Collision damage waiver) insures the driver against accidental damage to the rental car. Some suppliers and car types come with insurance that allows you to re-claim any excess you have had to pay out for accidental damage. You may also be charged for excess on pick up of the car, this will be refund upon return of the car in the same condition as it was when collected. Exclusions to CDW include damage to windows/windscreens, the interior, wheels, tyres, underside and/or roof of the car (see supplier's terms for full list of exclusions). Depending on the vehicle type and country you are renting the car in the excess cost will be between €300 and €1,500. You can however reduce this excess cost by taking out additional excess insurance.
Before driving off please ensure that any defects in the vehicle are recorded and that if you did have an accident that you keep a full record of what happened and get a police report. Without this any excess paid cannot be reclaimed.
Do I have to have a credit card?All customers require a credit card to pick up their rental car. Suppliers will swipe your credit card as part of the pick up process. This is to cover against any excess if the car is for example lost, stolen, damaged or misfuelled. If the car is returned in the same condition as when it was collected then no money will be taken from your card.
